Have any plans this weekend? Sunday is LEAF Open Farm day, an annual event in which visitors can go to participating farms to learn more about farming, and farmers the chance to talk about what they’re so proud of: British food and farming!

Unfortunately, with Covid restrictions still in place, the event will be on a smaller scale than hoped for. All farms will be following covid regulations and practising social distancing, but events will be held outdoors so there is a low risk of transmission. Although LEAF Open Farm is taking place all over Britain, local restrictions will be adhered to, which means here in Wales that guided farm tours can take place so long as social distancing can be maintained.
Farms opening for LOFS will be offering visitors a variety of on-farm experiences from guided walks and farm tours to machinery displays and picnics on the farm. In Wales, there are two participating farms - Argae Cottage in Llandrinio and Blaenrheon in Brecon. Check out the LOFS website here (https://farmsunday.org/visit-a-farm) to find the farm closest to you.
What are you waiting for? Head down to your closest farm this Sunday, enjoy some sunshine, and help LEAF celebrate their 15th anniversary!

Can’t make it this weekend? On Sunday 26th September 2021 LEAF Online Farm will feature Facebook live virtual farm tours across Britain, so put the date in your diary to virtually meet more British farmers!
